SUMMARY
-AIRCRAFT SHIPPING CRATES at CH(I-HSIEN AIRFIELD
-BUTCHER AIRCRAFT noted at HANG-CHOW AIRFIELD
?ARTILLERY PARKS on TAI-SIIAN and CIIOU SHAN ISLANDS
This memorandum summarizes significant changes in the southeast
China area based on interpretation of aerial photography flown between

AIRFIELDS
CHU-HSIE{,N AIRFIELD (28?58'N-118?531E : 79 aircraft
were noted on the airfield. Of these, 48 FAGOT aircraft were in the
west revetment area, 2 were on the hangar apron, 28 FRESCO aircraft
were in the east revetment area, and i was unidentified. Twelve
aircraft shipping crates were on the hangar service apron. Ten
crates, probably empty, were scattered along a road 450 -feet
northwest of the largest hangar.
CHIA-HSING AIRFIELD (30%3IN_120?4'E) : Approximately 59 MIG type
aircraft were visible on aerial photography. dated
accurate count and identification was not possible because of the light
tone of the aircraft and poor photographic quality.

HANG-CHOW AIRFIELD (30?19'N-120?13'E): On aerial photography dated

runway and taxiways.
CAIN-HUA AIRFIELD (29006'N-119?LO 'E): On photography dated
M there was some indication of rehabilitation of the runway.
Trucks and probable scrapers were in use, but, there was no in-
dication that the runway was being lengthened or that taxiways or
other facilities were being added to the airfield. The runway can
be extended to the east, but its extension to the west is limited
by a stream channel.
NAN-TAI, LUNG-TIM, HtJI Ail, CHING-YAN?G, MA-CHIANG, KAO-CHI, LUNG-CHI,
CHENG-HAI, and LIEN-CI``bG AI1FILLDS: No significant changes were
noted on aerial photographic coverage of these airfields.
MILITARY
TAI-SHAH ISLAND ARTILLERY PARK (30?17'N-i22?lO1E):
16 unidentified field artillery pieces and 16 trucks were parked
near a barracks area on Tai-shan Island. Cloud cover prevented a
more detailed analysis of military facilities on the island.
CHOU-SHAN ISLAND ARTILLERY PARK (30?05'N-122?06'E): 26 unidentified
field-artillery pieces were located in a barracks area on aerial
