This is the first confirmed deployment of this gun along the Sino-Soviet border. Three probable new heavy SP guns, under camouflage netting, were observed at Novosysoyevk This type of gun was first identified in April 1976 at the Leningrad Tank Testing Area (TSR) This is also the first confirmed deployment of this type of SP gun at a facility containing the 240mm SP heavy mortar. This mortar was first seen at Novosysoyevka 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 9 (1 25X1 (TSR) The new heavy SP gun, which was partially canvas covered, was parked in the heavy artillery regiment storage area at Novosysoyevka.
