buildings, a probable ammo storage building, and a single AAA gun. The stations are dis-
persed within 20 NM of Ping-liang on the east side of Liu-pan-shan (mountains). A
weather station and radar are located atop one of the higher ridges and presumably alert
the stations as to when to fire into hail bearing clouds. Ping-liang Army Bks, located
in the town, has storage for three AAA batteries, however, since only two were observed,
it is possible that the dispersed AAA guns may belong to this unit. In a collateral re-
port it states that "during the growing season of 1974, an undisclosed AAA battalion
under the Lan-chou MR fired chemical shells into storm clouds.... during the hail season."
