The key identification feature is their unique training facilities, such as the obstacle course illustrated below. Civil defense units are-equipped with engineering vehicles, fire trucks, decontamination equipment and 1-3 light tanks for reconnaissance. Numbers and types of equipment and training aids observed may vary from unit to unit.
