IMAGERY INFORMATION REPORT
MILITARY ACTIVITY AT BYKHOV AIRFIELD, USSR (S)
(TSR)I I a review of probable naval
personnel was observed in parade formations (Figure 1) on the runway, taxi-
way, connecting link, and loop dispersal area at this Soviet naval air-
field. This activity was probably in preparation. for May Day and involved
approximately 1,300 personnel in 25 marching units.
(TSR) Additionally, continuing construction activity was observed in
the southwest dispersal area (not shown on graphics). A loop taxiway is
being constructed from the south end of the runway connecting with the
BACKFIRE dispersal area. When this taxiway is completed, the dispersal
area will be accessible from both the north and south ends of the runway.
(TSR) Bykhov Airfield is 1.5 nautical miles west of Bykhov and sup-
ports two BADGER ASM regiments and a BACKFIRE squadron subordinate to
Soviet naval aviation.
