This activity was probably in preparation. for May Day and involved approximately 1,300 personnel in 25 marching units. (TSR) Additionally, continuing construction activity was observed in the southwest dispersal area (not shown on graphics). A loop taxiway is being constructed from the south end of the runway connecting with the BACKFIRE dispersal area. When this taxiway is completed, the dispersal area will be accessible from both the north and south ends of the runway. (TSR) Bykhov Airfield is 1.5 nautical miles west of Bykhov and sup- ports two BADGER ASM regiments and a BACKFIRE squadron subordinate to Soviet naval aviation.
