1. SIGNIFICANCE: NEWLY IDENTIFIED ELECTRONIC SITE - BEER CAN -
IN THE VICINITY OF THE NIZHNIY TAGIL AMM/SAM
LAUNCH COMPLEX.
THIS NEW IDENTIFICATION MAKES A TOTAL OF SIX BEER
CAN ELECTRONIC SITES THUS FAR IDENTIFIED IN THE
USSR.
THE LENINGRAD NW AND SW AMM/SAM LAUNCH
COMPLEXES HAVE TWO EACH AND A SINGLE BEER CAN
IS LOCATED AT THE KAP[JSTIN YAR MISSILE TEST CENTER
ELECTRONICS R&D AREA.

10 NM SW OF THE NIZHNIY TAGIL AMM/SAM LAUNCH

HEIGHT OF CYLINDRICAL RADAR PEDESTAL-- 40 FT,
+ 5 FT.
DIAMETER OF CYLINDRICAL RADAR PEDESTAL --
DIAMETER OF ELEVATED PLATFORM -- 160 FT + 10 FT.
HEIGHT OF ELEVATED PLATFORM -- UNAVAILABLE.
THIS MENSURATION COMPARES FAVORABLY WITH PRE-
VIOUSLY OBTAINED DIMENSIONS OF THE BEER CAN
WHICH REVEAL THE HEIGHT OF THE ELEVATED PLAT-
FORM TO BE 70 FT. THE FUNCTION OF THE BEER CAN
IS UNKNOWN.
9. MISSION READOUT: THE FACILITY CONSISTS OF AN ELEVATED, CIRCULAR PLAT-
FORM WITH A CENTRAL CYLINDRICAL RADAR PEDESTAL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. AN
ASSOCIATED SUPPORT AREA CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 12 BUILDINGS.
