THE MMAIN CONCRETE RUNWAY MEASURES 7,900 X 260 FT. THE SOVIET E-266 AIRCRAFT WHICH ACCORD- ING TO SOVIET ANNOUNCEMENTS SET WORLD PERFOR- MANCE RECORDS IN APR 65, HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BY WESTERN OBSERVERS. HOWEVER, FROM THE LIMITED DATA RELEASED BY THE SOVIETS, THE E-266 IS THOUGHT TO BE A TWIN-JET, DELTA WING, HIGH AL- TITUDE MACH 2.5 INTERCEPTOR DESIGNED BY THE MCKOYAN DESIGN BUREAU. IT IS ESTIMATED TO HAVE A LENGTH OF 80 FT AND A WING SPAN OF 40 FT, WITH THE TWO ENGINES MOUNTED INTERNALLY IN THE AFT OF THE FUSELAGE.
