NEW AIRCRAFT NOT DISPLAYED AT THE MOSCOW AIRSHOW
1. SIGNIFICANCE: FOUR NEW AIRCRAFT WHICH HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED
ON KH PHOTOGRAPHY WERE NOT APPARENTLY DISPLAYED
AT THE MOSCOW AIRSHOW. A SHORT ASSESSMENT OF
EACH AIRCRAFT FOLLOWS:
RAM "A": RAMENSKOYE FLIGHT TEST CENTER, MAY 66.
(PRIMARY FLIGHT TEST CENTER)
RAM "B": RAMENSKOYE?FLIGHT TEST, CENTER, MAY 66.
RAM "D": RAMENSKOYE FLIGHT TEST CENTER, MAY 67.
NOVO "A": NOVOSIBERSK WEST AIRFIELD, APR 66.
3. REMARKS: RAM "A" IS ESTIMATED BY FTD TO BE THE POSSIBLE
ENGINE TESTBED FOR THE SOVIET SST (TU-144), THIS DELTA-WING AIRCRAFT HAS
A WINGSPAN OF 30 FT AND AN OVERALL LENGTH OF
RAM "B" IS A NEW GENERATION AIRCRAFT WHICH HAS CHARACTERISTICS SIMILAR TO
THOSE OF THE YAKOVLEV DESIGNED FIREBAR AND BREWER. THIS MID SWEPT-WING
AIRCRAFT IS POWERED BY TWO INTERNAL ENGINES. THE SWEPT TAIL-PLANE APPEARS
TO HAVE SQUARED TIPS AND THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER IS MOUNTED MIDWAY ON

THE SWEPT VERTICAL FIN. THE CANOPY APPEARS TO BE LOCATED DIRECTLY OVER
THE ENGINE INTAKES. THE WING SPAN IS 40 FEET WHILE THE OVERALL LENGTH
Is HIS AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE YAKOVLEV PARKING AREA
RAM "D": THIS AIRCRAFT WHICH IS SIMILAR TO THE FISHPOT IS BELIEVED BY
FTD TO BE THE E-166, HOWEVER THIS AIRCRAFT WAS IMAGED IN MAY 67 WITH
a BUBBLE CANOPY WHICH THE E-166 DISPLAYED IN MOSCOW, DID NOT HAVE. THE
POSSIBILITY EXISTS THAT THE E-166 MAY HAVE BEEN IMAGED ON POOR QUALITY
PHOTOGRAPHY OF OCTOBER 1965; BUT NO CORRELATION CAN BE MADE AT THIS
TIME. THIS DELTA-WING AIRCRAFT HAS A SINGLE ENGINE. THE WING-SPAN IS
WHILE THE OVERALL LENGTH IS THIS AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN
REPORTED IN THE MIKOYAN PARKING AREA AT RAMENSKOYE.
NOVO "A": THIS AIRCRAFT IS A NEW GENERATION, MID DELTA-WING AIRCRAFT
AND IS PROBABLY POWERED BY TWO INTERNAL ENGINES. THE ENGINE AIR INTAKES
ARE POSSIBLY UNDERNEATH THE WING SURFACE. THE CANOPY IS LOCATED DIRECTLY
ABOVE THE LEADING EDGE OF THE WING, THE DELTA TAIL-PLANE APPEARS TO HAVE
SQUARED TIPS. FUSELAGE LENGTH ISI WITH A WING SPAN OF
FTD HAS ESTIMATED THAT THIS AIRCRAFT MAY BE THE BLINDER WITH WINGS OFF.
