FY 1976 KIQ STRATEGY REPORT
KIQ 38. What are China's policies and activities toward
maintaining and expanding its influence in the Third World,
and do these policies contribute to disorder or stability?
Pay particular atte.tion to those PRC activities detri-
mental to US interest.
I. COLLECTION
A. The principal areas on which reporting and analysis
are required during the fiscal year are:
Target 1: Information on the nature and extent of
PRC aid, training of and influence on.Th.ird World
governments and dissident groups, particularly
those which affect US interests.
Target 2: Information on PRC support for and influ-
ence on Third World positions which affect US inter-
ests, such as U.N. issues, law of the sea and other
international confernces. Also Peking's policies
towards Third World producer organizations such
as OPEC. .
II. ORGANIZATION COMMITMENTS

B. Production
The following types of intelligence analysis and
production will be required to fulfill this KIQ
during the fiscal year:
Target 1: CIA/OPR is doing a study on Chinese
support to insurgencies worldwide, particularly
25X1D in Asia and Africa. will cover
PRC aid to Third World countries as part of their
25XI D
regular reporting procedures. _ will focus on
Chinese military aid.
