1. On 29 November 1956 the transportation provision of PASCO-57 was
reviewed by the undersigned relative to reimbursement for transportation
of household furnishings and recording of Obligations therefor. The pro-
visions of paragraph 3g(l) of PASCO-57 1W generally interpreted by the
Members of the Office of Logistics with whom this was discussed

Office of the Comptroller that the Army bills this Agency only for "out-of-
pocket" or extraordinary expenses incidental to such transportation. It is
also their understanding that Household effects shipments would not require
reimbursement to the Army unless extraordinary expenses were incurred.
2. The undersigned was advised that transportation via Army channels
is not recorded as an obligation against the Agency's Transportation allot-
ment (6893) since there is no reimbursement to Army for ordinary transporta-
tion costs relative to personnel, supplies or equipment.
3. In those few instances where there are extraordinary expenses, the
Budget Office of the Office of Logistics has recorded such obligations.
