1. Attached hereto is a proposed draft of a letter to the
Comptroller General of the United States requesting a decision
as to 'whether this Agency has the authority to reimburse certain
prospective employees for expenses incurred in securing medical
examinations from private physicians incident to determining their
physical eligibility for appointment to duty.
2. It is recor,unended that this query be formally presented for
a decision unless you feel that the point can be clarified by in-
formal discussions with the General Accounting Office.
