REFERENCE a Memo dtd 9 Nov 61 for DD/S fr Mtn SSA.-DD/S,

1. In reference memorandum we advised you of a program under-
taken to review Bock Dispatches on support subjects with a view to
the destruction of those no longer in force and to make appropriate
arrangements to preserve the contents of those still current. As of
that data, 9 November 1961, we advised that we had requested that
102 Book Dispatches be destroyed, that 18 Book Dispatches be incorpo-
rated into Agency Regulatory Issuances and that ? Dispatches remain
in effect in their present form.
2. This is to advise that we have reviewed an additional 98
Book Dispatches and after checking with the initiating offices have
requested that 97 of these Dispatches be destroyed. One of the
Book Dispatches reviewed contains instructions which are still
applicable, but which we believe should be incorporated by the
Office of Security into a current Regulatory Issuance. The
description of that Book Dispatch follows:
No. 14 4., dated 25 February 1957, initiated by
Office of Security, subjs Counter Audio Surveillance.
3. Will you please advise us when the subject matter of the
above described Book Dispatch has been incorporated into a Regalatory
Issuance, so that we may arrange at that time for the cancellation
and destruction of the Dispatch.
