Approved For Release 2000/0&,84 : CIA-RDP79-00639A000100100017' 19 JUL 1967 MEMORANDUM FOR: Special Support Assistant to the Deputy Director for Support SUBJECT : Proposed Book Dispatch: "Study on Materials and Methods to Reduce the Hazard of Flying Glass from Blast Shattered Windows" REFERENCE : Memo dtd 28 June 67 to SSA-DD/S fr D/S, same subject 1. This memorandum is for your information. 2. I concur in the issuance of the proposed Book Dispatch. 3. The Real Estate and Construction Division, Office of Logistics (OL/RE&CD), can assist the Office of Security in imple- menting the program in accordance with paragraphs 9 and 12 of the Book Dispatch as follows: a. Effective immediately, RE&CD will evaluate the problem of possible damage and injury from flying glass as part of the design effort for each construction project designed by Headquarters or designed by other agencies under the cognizance of RE&CD. b. I suggest that the Office of Security furnish RE&CD copies of any reports from the field submitted in response to paragraph 12 of the Book Dispatch. Receiving these reports will enable RE&CD to assess the magnitude of the problem based on the field's observations and also to assist the Office of Security in arriving at a recommended solution when such assistance is appropriate.
