Dear Dr. Boitsov:
By way of implementation of the exchange agreement on standards
in the electrical field and in accordance with the proposaITmade
at our meeting in Moscow in June that advantage be taken of the
presence of experts from the electrical field in both the USSR
and the USA at the IEC meeting in-Bucharest in September, we
have arranged with Mr. Leon Podolsky, President of the USA,
National Committee for IEC for him and members of the USA dele-
gation to get together with appropriate members of the USSR
delegation to refine further the categories of electrical indus-
try standards in which the exchange of documents is to be
undertaken.
The other participants with Mr. Podolsky will be Dr. M. G.
Domsitz of the National Bureau of Standards and Vice President
of the U.S. National Committee; Mr. Sava Scher, Manager of Stan-
dards for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
and, a member of the Executive Committee of the U.S. National
Connnittee; and Mr. Ivan Easton, Retired Vice President, General
Radio Company, Chairman of Committee TC 66 on Electronic Measuring
instruments.
I assume that you will inform the members of the USSR delegation
accordingly so that they will be prepared for the proposed dis-
cus,sions with the USA delegation.
