The itinerary provides for your arrival in Washington, D.C., on July 5, with the tour commencing on July 7 and ending upon your return to Wash- ingtaon July 25. These dates, as well as the itinerary within the United States, should be considered firm because of commitments which have been made. If there are urgent reasons for deviation from this itinerary in any respect, I should be notified immediately so that required changes can be made. I understand that you (or the Soviet Embassy in the United States) will obtain reservations and tickets for air transportation throughout the United States as shown in the detailed itinerary. These should be obtained as soon as possible because this period coincides with peak travel in the United States. I will make hotel reservations for the Soviet group. I need to know as soon as possible the number in the Soviet delegation. I would also appreciate having the names and titles of the members of the Soviet delegation as soon as convenient. The American delegation believes that the Soviet delegation will find its visit to the United States interesting and informative. The itin. +erary has been arranged to encompass the areas of mutual interest. All of this information is very much appreciated and has been furnished to members of the United States delegation. We are preparing a resume of the state-of-the-art of United States Technology in Plastics in Construction (Hydrotechnical) and will provide you translated copies during your visit. The American delegation is tentatively planning to visit the USSR in the latter part of September 1974. We would like to discuss with you during your visit plans for our return visit to your country.
