1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS TWO HIGHWAY BRIDGES BEING RECONSTRUCTED
NEAR XOM CA TRANG.
2. BACKGROUND:
THE XOM CA TRANG AREA WAS STRUCK TWICE IN APRIL 1965, WHEN THE XOM
]WAS DESTROYED.
THE XOM CA TRANG HIGHWAY BRIDGE OVER THE NAM QUAT MAY ALSO HAVE BEEN
DESTROYED AT THE SAME TIME.
3. MISSION READOUT:
STRUNG BETWEEN THE TWO PIERS OF THE DESTROYED XOM CA TRANG HIGHWAY
BRIDGE OVER THE RAO CAI. CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL IS NOTED ALONGSIDE THE
APPROACHES TO THE BRIDGE.
FOUR CONSTRUCTION PLATFORM CABLES ARE ALSO OBSERVED STRUNG BETWEEN
THE TWO END ABUTMENTS OF THE XOM CA TRANG HIGHWAY BRIDGE OVER THE NAM
QUAT. CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL IS OBSERVED ALONG THE APPROACHES TO THE
BRIDGE.
THE REPAIR/RECONDITIONING OF THE APPROACHES TO BOTH BRIDGES IS
EITHER IN PROCESS OR HAS BEEN COMPLETED. SERVICEABLE FORDS BY-PASSING
