THIS BRIEFING BOARD PORTRAYS VINH SA-2 MISSILE SITE A36-2, THE
ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-NINTH SUCH SITE TO BE IDENTIFIED IN NORTH VIETNAM.
2. LOCATION:
THE SITE IS LOCATED ADJACENT TO VINH AIRFIELD
AND
4.5 NM NORTH OF THE CITY OF VINH AT UTM WF709722.
3. MISSION READOUT:
I
TO CONSIST OF THREE OCCUPIED, UNREVETTED LAUNCH POSITIONS AND AN
OCCUPIED, UNREVETTED CENTRAL GUIDANCE AREA. NO OTHER MISSILES OR
MISSILE-ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT IS OBSERVED. FOUR OCCUPIED AAA SITES
ARE OBSERVED IN THE VICINITY.
4. COLLATERAL:
OF THE ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-NINE SA-2 SITES REPORTED TO DATE IN
NORTH VIETNAM, NINETEEN HAVE BEEN ABANDONED, IDENTIFIED AS AAA SITES,
OR OTHERWISE DELETED, BRINGING THE TOTAL OF KNOWN USEABLE SITES TO ONE
HUNDRED SIXTY.
