Dak.) on the floor, restores the language "or under any other law, " which was deleted from Abourezk amendment #1511 to S. 3394 during markup. 2. (Unclassified - DFM) In the absence of Bill Phillips, Norm Cornish, and Jim Kronfeld, Subcommittee on Foreign Operations and Government Information staff, House Government Operations Committee, delivered to Z M . Martha Doty, Clerk, a pacer detailing our problems with the Subcommittee ersion of H. R. 16373, the right: to privacy bill. 3. (Internal Use Only - DFM) Picked up from Representative W. C. (Dan) Daniel (D. , Va.) a copy of a constituent inquiry about a possible ex-employee of Air America. Mr. Daniel expressed his fears of what the Chile matter might do to the Agency's effectiveness. (See Memorandum for Record. ) 4. (Internal Use Only - PLC) Called Norm Cornish, Deputy Staff Director, Subcommittee on Foreign Operations and Government Information, House Government Operations Committee, to request a meeting to discuss re Agency's problems, with H. R. 16373, the right of privacy bill. He said it would be impossible to meet today due to pressing Committee business; however, if we would give him a paper presenting our problems, he said .he would review it and take it up with the full Committee tomorrow if our concerns are valid. (See Item #2 above. ) 5. (Confidential - JGO) Received a call from retired senior Agency administrative officer, who told me that his next door neighbor, had died peacefully yesterday. Apparently he had not been ill. OS, has been advised. Talked to Ralph Preston, House Appropriations Committee staff, and gave him a brief rundown on the Director's availability through next Wednesday, 25 September, Preston told me he would be talking further with Chairman George H. Mahon (D. , Texas) but other full Committee commitments could well command his time through next week. 8. Received a call from Ann Baxter, Secretary to Representative William J. Randall (D. , Mo.), who told me that the correspondence file concerning a constituent request lof 5 September 1974 25x1 had been received from the home office. I reviewed with Ms. Baxter our interim response, but in response to her request I will attempt a draft suggested reply for the Representative's use, 9. I Talked to Rebecca Switzer, Assistant to Senator James Abourezk (D... S. Dak. ), and scheduled a meeting with her for 1:30 p.m., tomorrow, 19 September, to discuss the Senator's letter 25x1 concerning the Foreign Aid bill.
