Institute (SRI) Parapsychology Investigation

Systems Command,

the attached request, the Navy program office involved
with funding a fraction of the current SRI invertivatiorl
was briefed concerning the CIA sponsored work. SG1I
I Iwas invited to attend the briefing, but Was una i e
to De A list of attendees is given in the
second attachment.
2. Tice group was told of the entire funded prog
beginning in 1972. Major results of each of the efforts
were reviewed. The internal sensitivity concerning the
project was discussed. The internal conflicts involvinb
the interpretation of the investigation were reviewed.
The negative evaluation of ORD/LJSR was emphasized. Opera-
tional tests which continued after SRI funding stopped
were mentioned as producing some good and some had results.
The group was told if theX felt they had the need to know
more, they should contact JOTS/:AB. ' o
copies of the SRI final report were left with Mr. James
Foote for ii's careful evaluation. Mr. Foote was told
contact ORD/LSR for more infor-
mation about ORD's evaluation an current interest in this
area.
3. The meeting ended with a description of the two
currently Navy funded tasks at SRI. These tasks are both
extensions of work funded by CIA. I believe that Captain
Wheeler, Commander of the Naval Electronics Systems Comiand,
was rather overwhelmed with the information presented. I
don't blieve he had any previous briefing on this subject.
