1, - raises questions re ardin CIA participation in the S/I
Subcommittee at the I discussed this at some 25X1A
length with FE., and we drafted an
incoming cable brief for the Director. I made the point that DD/I dLd not
wish to take any action other than that in support of Captain Layton and the
Navy. This point was incorporated into the brief with the statement, "Head-
quarters has informed the field that there is no objection to the S/I Sub-
com-rnittee not meeting if Captain Layton so desires."

subjects, I discussed the articles with Exec. Sec, of the

statements to cover the entire Agency but left in the details concerning
DD/Pls method of implementation for overseas personnel.,
