1. While visiting the Director of the Budget Mr. Frederick J.
Lawton yesterday, General Smith left with him a copy, Number 5, of
the National Intelligence Digest. At Mr. Amory's request, I visited
Mr. Lawton today and had him sign a receipt for this document. I
also inserted in his book the page cautioning that the material is
highly sensitive.

an office of a PRC action; he was referring particularly to -
25X1A2g and of interest to ADO. I found that normally the Deputy
concerned receives two copies of the record of action paper, one for
his own file and one for dispatch to the office. I am having the
paper in question copied and sent to ADO (ER 3-4457).

AD/SI had in the Departmental Committee on Internal Security. He
had noted a letter, dated 12 November, which had been sent to AD/SI
25X1A9a for reply. I showed - the file on this matter and he, in turn,

25X1A9a =is a member of such committee and as such should be kept informed
generally of any matters handled directly with the committee by one

25X1A9a constituted such advice in this instance but request that
