1. AD/CI called to report Stalin's pronouncement in response to Reston's
questions, stating his boys were going to get together with a brief commentary
for DCI. Came down to the office, read the public material and considered 0/CI's
commentary, then with Sheldon drove to DCI residence where showed it to him. He
seemed quite pleased and asked that matter be got to John Foster Dulles. Latter
was believed to be in New York but later found to be in Washington so a copy was
25X1A9a taken to him by the 0/CI Watch Officer , who discussed it with him and
later furnished him a ride back to town. Dulles said he thought Eisenhower should
see it and so a copy is being telegraphed via secure means to New York.
