Approved For Release 2000/09/12 : CIA-RDP79-01041A000100020035-5 SCE. Security Information DIARY Executive Officer, DD/I Monday, 15 December 1952 25X1A9a 1. Aiteszcled H"r briefing in the Office of Logistics, a meeting attended by about twenty of the senior members of the DD/P and 25X1A9aDD/A complexes. 0 RR accompanied me. Followin the 25X1 A9ameeting, I arranged with that a copy of report,25X1 A9a together with all of the papers and background matter brought back by him, be sent to us for coordination and ultimate filing in Industrial 25X1A9aegistry. has asked that these papers be sent to the Registry through him so that he may make extracts as he sees fit. 2. On Saturday I reviewed the Black Book of Projects prepared by 25X1A9allllllllllllllllllll11and found that many of them have progressed beyond the status reflected in the book. I discussed these today with-and he tells 25X1A9a me that some time this week he expects to bring most of these up to date. I suggested that A'/DD/I might like to have a brief paragraph on each so 25X1 A9ahat his stewardship might be passed back to Urith an indication of accomplishment. 25X1A9a 3. 5X1A9a DAD/CD, called stating that 0/IC, has requested Moreau to a_pproach the DCI for CIA's position in meeting or Itaw, turning down a SRE request for IAC-Li5/30. Both Army and Navy have turned 25X1A9a0-wn this request. -and I discussed, at some length, in light of 25X1A9a earlier discussion with me (EO/DD/I Diary, L. December) and decided that nothing useful is gained through CIA taking a position. We decided there was no point in bothering the DCI in the face of the turn-doti^,rn by the two Services. Li.. Discussed, with T&-. Sheldon, the Admiral 22 December. I informed .Ar. Sheldon that the Admiral at 3:15 and take him to the DD Es e briefing on will pick up 25X1A9a P area for their briefing. Thus it is unnecessary for Sheldon to include that information $n the DD/P chat during his 1 hours with Admiral Espee. Mr. Sheldon will 25X1A9a check as to SI clearance with a view to inviting Gen. 25X1A9a to sit in on the O CI briefing. will join the 25X1A9a group in the Director's dining room. 25X1A9a called to say that his staff study on the "Idea Officer" has cleared through Administration Building and he is still somewhat concerned lest the DD/P decide to place this function in one y of the Divisions rather than on one of his own staffs. I told 25X1A9a that should this appear to be developing if he will let me know, we will look into the advisability of pointing out to DD/P that we feel the importance requires that it be handled at the highest possible level. 25X1A9a 25X1A9a 25X1A6a 6. 00, called to say that the is taking care of entrance through Customs. I told Delaney that I would make no other arrangements and leave the entire matter in his hands. I also asked him that if either xr. Amory or I go up to meet Mir. ow Becker, would it be possible for the to arrange for us = m Approved For Release 20QQ/ RDF~ QAg41A000100020035-5 NO Security Information Approved For Rele a 200046W SF DP79-01041 A0001 00020035-5 Monday 15 Decem'::er 1952 S Security fformation to go down the harbor to Quarantine on the Cutter and board the UNITED 25X1 Aga STATES there. However I asked - to do nothing about this until 25X1 A9a we have heard from that one of us is to meet him. 25X1A9a 25X1A5a1 7. -called regarding the - letter and asked if it wouldn't be possible to nominate the individual to handle this now. I checked with at some length, and found that in his opinion, the whole matter is extremely confusing, will ultimately involve many of the IADs is already involving DD/p and might, in time, involve the IAC. 25X1 A9a recommends a full study between now and our deadline of 29 December. I so informed - and he agreed to release the acknowledgment letter, 25X1A9a 25X1A6a 25X1A9a 8. Discussed the technical people letter with He suggested that 0/IC might be helpful in coordinating this matter and I urged them to request their assistance, 9.
