Approved For Releas 000/09/12 : CIA-RDP79-01041A00010000020047-2 _.wrs,y Information Official Diary (Acting DD/I) Tuesday, 9 December 1952 1. At morning meeting, brought up General Partridge's request that Lt. Col. (Congressman) Lantaff be invited to the next IAC Meeting. I recommended that this be done but DCI took a dim view of it. Finally, left it to me to extend the invitation only if General Partridge had in any way made a commitment, non- fulfillment of which would be embarrassing to him. Later, turned out that such had been made so Lantaff will be present. Note: He is on active duty with G-2 and has participated in work on National Estimates and has previously had SI clearance. 2. Invited DCI to the Saturday final conference of the 0/RR consultants. 3. Reported arrangements for the Admiral Espet briefing. Li. Reported receipt of letter from General Carter Clark to Mr. Becker re- garding a proposition with which I was not familiar. DCI said Mr. Becker was handling it and to let the matter wait until his return. 5. Allen Dulles discussed the Italian political situation in some detail and wanted to know what we had done in 0/CI on appraising the party line-ups and the effect of the splintering of the left-wing parties. i- 6. At Sheldon's request, called General Porter who agreed to use his best influence to obtain the friendly situation material we need for the Eisenhower briefings. 7. Attended special meeting of PRC to consider the maritime training site. 8. F. Wisner asked for a copy of Vol. I of the Presidential Black Book (NSC policies). I agreed to get him one on loan at least from DCI office and 25X1A9a if possible to get additional copy for the Agency which he can have. Later - agreed to try and procure this for me. 25X1A9a 9. Lunched with and stated that I would not object 25X1A9ato~ approaching Chief of the Air Branch of 0/RR, but25X1A9a that I thought that it would be undesirable from an overall Agency point of view to make another change in the head of this branch only a few months after Cranston 25X1A9a had replaced and that therefore I would view a request for his transfer to 0/NE with very little enthusiasm. 25X1A9a 25X1 Aga 10. Spent two hours with revising the draft machinery and terms of reference for the summary evaluation. will have a 25X1 A! fair copy which we can put in the form of a staff paper for DCI tomorrow or early Thursday. 25X6A 11. In view of the complex shenanigans going on in the court asked 0/CI to get a background piece on the appropriate organic statutes, personnel reports, etc. This document is part of an Integrated file. if separated from the the it must be Approved For Release 2000/09/12: CIA-RDP7 1A000100?Ilf19-?
