At the Deputies' meeting, called the Director's attention to the highly-important item in the CIB relating to Kashani, et al. Later in the day I noticed that this situation was highlighted by a number of 25X1A9a extremely gloomy cables from 2. Attended General Samford's meeting on the summary evaluation paper. It was agreed that all parties would send suggestions for amend- ments to Dr. Hoover, all of such suggestions to arrive not later than Wednesday morning. Dr. Hoover will attempt to revise the paper and check informally to see if this revision is satisfactory to the various repre- sentatives on the Senior Group. It was the sense of the Group that this should be the first of a series of papers and that the terms of reference for the later papers Should be worked out by DCI, with the collaboration of the other interested groups. 3. At the Deputies' meeting, DCI noted that a had 25X1A5a1 requested to see him. This was obviously related to the Egyptian matter and Mr. Wisner and I briefed the DCI on the background.
