Informed Mr. Wisner of Mr. Hedden's suggestion as to the security risk in the use of pseudonyms and requested that he have this matter gone into again, and Mr. Wisner undertook to do so, 2. With the approval of DCI, passed to Adm. Dennison and Mr. Adams of the Senate Small Business Committee a Russian Near East propaganda broadcast relating to oil monopolies in the Middle East. 25X1A9a 25X1A9a 3. Chatted with , the new Cable Secretary, and Mr. to insure that copies of all cables containing substantive intelligence which would normally go either to DCI or DD/P simultaneously come to this office. Following this conversation, an appropriate notification was issued by the Cable Secretary and questions were raised by - of the Operational Offices. When I explained to them that these cables were 25X1A9c intended for my information and not for further dissemination, all'were satisfied as to this new arrangement and I confirmed this with Mr. Wisner. 25X1A9a It. of the Operational Offices consulted me as to the need for an Intelligence Officer, Grade GS-14. Chatted with Col. Dr. Chadwell explained that the real purpose of trip abroad was area familiarization for a new division chief and I indicated that I would approve this trip if the project were appropriately rewritten. 9. Also informed Dr. Chadwell that I would rewrite a memorandum respecting the understanding as to the result of the SST Ad Hoc Committee Report. lO.
