1. At the Deputies' meeting, informed the Director that an IM
from 0/CI relating to the Middle East situation would not be ready for the
white House today, but should be ready early next week.
2. Chatted briefly with respecting his comments 25X1 A9a
on the draft report of the Scientific and Technical Intelligence Ad Hoc
Coud.ttee. He raised a question as to whether o/SI could undertake the
responsibilities assigned to it without a major increase in T/a.
3. Attended meeting of the Ad Hoc Technical and Scientific
intelligence Committee.
4. Attended meeting of the NSC Senior Staff.
5. Mr. Pforzheimer spoke to me respecting a request by Mr.
Tannenwald, Deputy Director of MSA, that we brief Congressman Battle
respecting intelligence on East-West trade. I indicated that I would
discuss this with the Director.
