MEMORANDUM FOR: Mr. Amory
SUBJECT : Re-Appraisal of Space Requirements
25X9A21. As I indicated at the IAD Luncheon last Friday, the re-study
vault for which there seems to be no alternative but to provide space
2. I held another meeting this afternoon with representatives
of the offices concerned and, after going over the above facts, there
was general agreement that there is no alternative to the OSI move to
Barton Hall. 05I seems to be definitely resigned to the move and has
been continuing detailed planning with General Services as to its re-
quirements in Barton Hall.

3. I also advised that a final check with DD/A
has indicated that, because of the lack of funds and the general
budgetary situation, that it does not appear likely that we can
expect provision of any additional air-conditioning units for use
next summer. However, we have been assured that 80 of the present
units in stock have been reserved for OSI. This will provide air-
conditioning for upwards of 60% of the 0SI personnel and I made it
clear to OCI, ORR and OCD that they might have to relinquish some
of their units to OSI to even up the coverage.
