1. Concurred for DD/I with revisions based on comments from
each of the Intelligence Offices, in draft regulations on:
a. Assignment
b. Appointment
C. Indoctrination and Orientation of Employees
These drafts did not involve any significant change in present policy
and procedure.
2. Upon review of the budget data, submitted by the Comptroller to
the Bureau of the Budget in connection with the budget review, ascertained
that the reduction in positions for FY-1953 and 1954, Teich had been pro-
posed by the DD/I area, had not been reflected in the tables given to the
Bureau of the Budget. After discussion with the Comptroller's Office,
it was agreed that we could talk to the reduced positions at the budget
hearings and our Offices were advised accordingly.
3. Reviewed the 0/SI proposal with "WW for the establishment
of a cover Office for him in the Washington area and referred him to the
Legal Counsel for concurrence.
4. Advised the Regulations control Staff, DD/A, upon their request,
of the number of copies that would be required for dissemination to our
field installations of the S Nixon address to the recent CIA
Orientation conference. V..
