1. Noted at the morning meeting that Senator Tobey's Inter-
state Commerce Commission was planning to investigate Soviet clandestine
procurement in the United Sta es and that this matter will impinge on some
CIA activities. I requested o insure that Legislative Liaison
kept in close touch with this situation. Later spoke about this by phone
with 'alter Pforzheimer.
2. Made a final check with D/CI on the contents of the Wednesday
briefing.
3. Also briefly discussed current intelligence respecting the
possibility of an invasion of Guatemala.
.. Reported at the morning meeting that rumors of Eisler defec-
tion were apparently false, judging by press reports of a planned talk.
