1. DAD/RR, called regarding a statement made at.a
recent meeting in DD Its Office by to the effect that it would
be preferable if requests for training-would be considered by Office
Career Boards rather than solely by the Ails. I assured him that the
manner in which 0/RR is now handling such requests is a preferred manner
and there should be no need for 0/RR to change existing procedures.
2. Attended Professional Selection Panel meeting. The Panel had
resubmitted to it a case which had been formerly turned down in that
certain senior officials in the Agency are pashing for a reversal of a
former Panel determination. New evidence vas._: presented in documentary
form which strengthened the feeling, by thQj Panel, that this individual
is not suitable for career employment and the Panel voted 5_0 against
career employment. It is possible that an issue will be made of this
case by said Agency officials and the Panel feels that when its recommenda-
tions are not accepted, the full Agency Career Board should be advised
and should overrule the Panel if any overrulling is to be done. - 25X1A9a

3. " iM = 0/CI Security Officer, went over in detail
the recommendations being made by 0/CI regarding the use of these Offices
as a Special Area. I recommended certain changes in these recommendations
with an eye to practicality. final report will be sent 25X1 A9a
up within a few days.
