Dear Bob:
February 5, 1959
Your letter of January 28 was waiting here for me when I returned
.from the Far East. I had pleasant chats with mutual friends there
and heard some comments on your stop-over in Taiwan on your
recent return from Australia.
We are really counting on your lecture to provide the big wind-
up for our speaker program this year, and I am looking forward to
some moments to talk with you. I hate to put pressure on you,
but at this particular time of the year, the weather and airplane
travel are sufficiently uncertain that I would urge strongly trying
to make that 11:40 A.M, Eastern Airlines flight. We will have, I
feel sure, a good audience waiting for you, and I would hate to see
the program ruined by a late flight. (It often happens on. Eastern).
Could you please let me know the name of the man who knew you at
Harvard and asked you to speak at the Kiwanis Club, I will see that
he is invited to the dinner we will have to eth
14 talk, g er right before your
(y- My wife and I will count on your spending the night with us.
K ' f/ That will give you an opportunity for some serious conver

sa
on after
the turmoil and shouting has died.
O Best wishes,

Sin9erely yours,
