Mr. Robert Amory, Jr.
2430 "F" Street, N.W.
Washington 25, D. C.
I sincerely appreciate your willingness to come down and help us with our
program in International Relations here at the University. I am sure that
you, in your position, appreciate the importance of bringing an awareness
of world problems to the undergraduates in our colleges. I shall write in
more detail later about your audience and specific arrangements. We hope
to have five major talks during the course of this year and I should warn
you that we may attempt to publish them between covers. These talks are
geared to the basic International Studies course and students are held re-
sponsible for their content. I feel, therefore, that I should warn you
that the level of sophistication of the audience will not be too high. I
am sure, however, that you need not feel too cramped and that you will be
able to give a meaningful interpretation of "The Long-Range Soviet Challen e".
There is just one further item on which I would like to trouble you. Would
it be possible to switch our agreed date for your lecture from February 24th
to March 3rd? If not, we will let the February 24th date stand and to save
you the bother of having to write me a reply at the moment, can we leave it
that if I don't hear from you March 3rd will be all right?
Best wishes,
RLW/rw
Incidentally, the picture arrived. We'll use it, but haven't you something
glossier, darker and more reflective of your handsome self?
