1* Reference is made to recent conversations with the Office of

the general value of the project in relation to the activities of our
Group.
2. Since our Group has been unable to evaluate in any detail the
research work and materials related to this project, it is difficult
for us to forma sound opinion on whether the project is of such direct
interest to us as to justify its continuance From memoranda and certain

3. With regard to the question of whether the--Project should be
continued s a possible
central research point, I believe that this Group would, from time to
time, be interested in any materials or data relating to the propaganda
or psychological aspects of Soviet and Communist activities. It is
difficult to state, at this time, the precise extent andcharacter of
our interest in such info ion, b-+ consideration is being given
to continuing the project t can be anticipated that we
would have at least a limi a reso to the project. Therefore, to
this general extent and solely as one possible CIA user, we would have
an, interest in seeing the project continued.
