I iread aloud a memorandum from St/A on "records survey and disposition schedule for the Geographic Area." The Records Management Staff of the Agency began a survey of records within ORR on 23 August, under the direction of St/A/RR. Tentative scheduling calls for a survey onday, November 15, 1954.1 of the Management Improvement e e survey. 2. ---]reported that the AD/RR this morning in staff meet reiterated the need for wartime emergency planning. He asked if any indication has come in of consumer reaction. I aid that he had heard of a few comments, generally favorable, for the ISIS as a whole. discussed D/GC problems in connection with the IRS, pointing ou the base map program may take as much as 4+5 to 60 percent of the total available professional compilation time. He will submit a statement of D/GC's problems in connection with the ISIS program. 12. brought up the question of overtime work in the Map Library by pee from other divisions, suggesting that an Area point-of-view be stated for such overtime. It was decided that divisions having unused overtime in any pay period can permit personnel to use that overtime at the Map Library. 13. Mr. Lundahl cam ated on the "International Conference on Man's Role in Changing the Face of the Earth," to be held at Princeton 13-18 June 1955 and suggested that some Geographic Area personnel should attend this conference, which is backed by the Wenner-Gren Foundation. 14. Mr. Lundahl advised that arrived today to begin two weeks duty as consultant to in preparation of a staff study. 15. I I showed the group copies prepared in OCh/G of lists of individuals in the Geographic Area who have been in grade the minimum time required for promotion and who occupy positions slotted higher than their present grade. He emphasized that division chiefs are responsible for this sort of periodic reviews so that all individuals will be periodically considered for promotion.
