25X1A9a 1. mentioned that reports to Security should
be made by all personnel who at any time serve as witnesses at
loyalty cases or police trials or who sign affidavits concerning
loyalty of individuals.
2. stated that by tomorrow morning division
chiefs must have written briefs of broad problems of intelligence
community interests. This is for a DD/I statement being prepared
for briefing General Clark. Examples of problems of intelligence
C, 1:
community interests are as follows:

a. Procurement of orbit materials for the Map Library.
b. Photo intelligence problems., such as coordination of
procurement and dissemination of photography.
c. Escape and evasion coordination problems.
3. - reported that the external research project for
cataloging unclassified maps looks impractical. Time studies have
indicated that too much time would be expended by Map Library
personnel in preparing the maps for outside cataloging. An extra
allowance of overtime., possibly 16 hours a week., probably would be
more efficient. would like to draw on personnel from other
divisions for the overtime cataloging.

A general discussion of the career staff program took place.

machine run, and that these eligible individuals will be notified.

25X1A9a 6. remarked that he attended a conference on the
Junior Career Development program last Thursday. The Personnel
Office and the Office of Training will have to work together on this.
It probably won't affect us much as there are only 35 slots for the
Agency. The program is based on the assumption that rotation and
reassignment are necessary to development. This technique is already
in use within the Geographic Research Area., on an on-duty basis.

* 8. reported on two surveys of gra hics units in
CIA. The survey of the DD/I area was conducted

They will recommend that the two graphics units
in DD be merged and placed under - in OCI.

thinks that the Special Support Branch is only remote concerns

with the graphics problem. A relationship has to be established.,
25X1A9a however., and is preparing the statement of this
relationship. He said that any proposal to merge this unit with
the Graphics Unit will bring the Special Support Branch back to
Building #11. He will recommend, however., that the Graphics Unit
contain a trained cart o a her. The other survey of graphics units
is being conducted by of IG., who is surveying all graphica5X1A9a
units in CIA.
