Minutes of the 144th meeting were read by the Chairman and
approved as read.
1. GENERAL
pointed out that the label on JANIS supplements
should have the word "supplement" in the title, and that letter of
promulgation for future JANIS supplements should be complete indi-
cating past supplements to the same study, and listing errata sheets,
if included in subject supplement. These procedures will be followed
in future JANIS supplements. The Editorial Section will prepare copy
for letter of promulgation in consultation with others concerned.
2. EDITORIAL
Dr. Meigs reported that editorial work on Chapters VIII, IX,
and XI of JANIS 153 had been completed, and that all of JANIS 79 had
been finished, except for eight or nine pages of Chapter V. which were
expected from the contributors today. Chapter V is now running about
280 pages, instead of the original 160 pages as estimated by the con-
tributors. It was pointed out that this extra burden, beyond the
original estimate, made it difficult for the Editorial Section to do
as satisfactory a job as normal, as well as increasing the load given
to the printer on a short deadline.

3. PRODUCTION
Lt. Van Rees reported that the following supplements had been
received from the printers: JANIS 73-3, 76-1, 84-1, and 81-1.
Bulk shipment of Chapter VII and advance copies of Chapter IX,
JANIS 150, have also been received.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
