Quam The minutes of the 133rd meeting were read by the Chairman and approved as read. 1. GETL The U. S. Geological Survey has received JISPB memo but stated that they could not compile the material on soil trafficability on a definitely scheduled date. Major Rasche will endeavor to rearrange with Col. Tiemann to continue past agreement in view of the fact that the AAA' maintains liaison with the G.S. and has access to their material. Captain McCaskill reported that his trip to Ohio was very interesting aand nd he has accomplished much in having Garber print many JANIS maps and inserts. printers and engravers were very coo~..erative and will complete the special job today or tomorrow. Captain f,MeCaskill was' : to find that Garber is operating with one-half as many employees as would normally be required by other similar establish- ments. He cited a case where the Camera and Photographic, Negative, and Plate Sections were operating efficiently with only 25 employees, where other organizations would have 40 employees. Captain Macomb reported that he visited some libraries and was compiling a reference bibliography for JANIS 74. Major Battles reported that he delivered the JANIS 80 supplement to JISPB today. Major Lynn will help check the material for discrepancies and presentation. 25X1A9a suggested that the BGN include a description of their policy and procedure on p ace names for inclusion in JANIS as is being done with map appraisals. The Chairman discussed the policy and procedure regarding visitors to JISPB. A suggested memorandum outlining the policy and procedure was read and approved by all conferees. 2. EDIT ORAL Cdr. PRODUCTION Lt. Van Rees reported that advance copies of Chapter XV, JANIS 77, were received today. Page proofs of Chapters I & VI, JANIS 77, have been received. Chapters 11, IV & VI of JANIS 75 are very late and will of necessity be scheduled to be printed with JANIS 150. 4. PLANNING Lt. Quam reported that blue line maps on JANIS 74 have been received. The map is large and will require more than one fold. Where possible, it should be reduced to JANIS page size. The letter of instruction will stress the reduction to page size wherever possible. Base map on JANIS 70 has been received and will be distributed to contributors. This study will be published after JANIS 74; Outline Guide and Instruction Sheet for JANIS 70 will be published later. The Q':MC has submitted samples of material for JANIS 75 which has been returned for better and more complete presentation.
