The minutes of the 123rd meeting were read by the Chairman, and approved
as amended.
1. GENERAL
A memorandum to be used as a tentative guide by a coordinator has been drawn
up .
Cdr. Knox, Navy EXOS, informed the Chairman by 'phone that any increases Key
the printing of JANIS should be reported at the earliest practicable date.

Army & Navy "E" award can not be made to a printing establishment; however, other
provisions for an award are being made.
Captain Liberto was directed to get the facts and report on the project "JANET"
being undertaken at Fort Pierce.
The recent visit of Major. Brodsky of the Arctic-Desert-Tropic Branch, AAF
Tactical Center, Orlando, Florida, was discussed. It was brought out that the
organization is staffed with experts and former foreign area residents; they
gather much information from returning service men. It was concluded that some
information would be of value to JANIS. That office could be helpful as a source
of information and perhaps they could answer special inquiries. An exchange of
bibliographies should be made immediately. 25X1C8c

2. PLANNING
Lt. Quam reported that final arrangements for a meeting between Chief,
Topographic Branch, MIS, and Joint Meteorological Committee have not been made.
3. EDITORIAL
Cdr. Clinton reported that five (5) chapters of JANIS 73 were completed this
week; Chapters I, II, IV & XII not complete; however, part of Chapter II already
submitted, and Chapter IV will be ready tomorrow, 30th. JANIS 77 will be
started soon; some parts already being reviewed.
4. PRODUCTION
Lt. Van Rees reported that advance copies of JANIS 78 chapters have been
received with the exception of Chapters I & IV, which should be in this week.
Bulk delivery of a number of JANIS chapters will be made Friday, 2 Feb.'45?
If possible, material should be completed and sent to compositors before
deadline date. This procedure would facilitate handling and eliminate "pile-ups."
Also, the completed parts would be available and ready for any emergency or change
in priorities.
The matter of coordinating the flow of material from Editorial-Graphic-
Production Sections was discussed. The Editorial S.O.P. will govern the flow
from Editorial to Graphic Sections. Captain Liberto will make arrangements for
an orderly flow from Graphic to Production Sections.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
