1. Minutes of the 109th meeting were read and approved.
2. It is desired to record in the minutes that on 20 October a letter
was transmitted to the Chiefs of the Intelligence Services, pointing out tardi-
ness in the submission of certain material for JANIS 85.
3. Col. Bicknell pointed out that the work load will increase and
overlap in JANIS 85 and 76.
Li,. In the future, all progress reports will have a note attached, point-
ing out delinquencies in submission and lack of progress. Such notes will
accompany only the report submitted to the agency guilty of the delinquency.
5. Col. .icknell suggested the adoption of a policy which was approved
by the Board that hereafter no leaves will be granted for a period of more than
5 days.
6. Col. Bicknell will discuss with J.'T.5., this date, the matter of
the high classification of the material which is available for JANIS 78.
lie will also discuss with this Committee the matter of our future program
which relates to our own operations, as well as those of the contract printers.
7. Capt. Lynn's memorandum on policy to be adopted on the corrections
which are submitted for JANIS was presented to the Board. The Board Members were
instructed to review this memorandum with a view of either adopting it in its
present form or making necessary recommendations.
8. Comdr. Clinton reported that up to now editorial progress was satis-
factory on JANIS 85, but will probably fail behind because all of the material
has not yet been submitted.

9. Lt. Quam reported for the Plans Section and Lt. Van Rees reported
for the Production Section.
10. The Board adopted the policy that on maps of JANIS areas or covers
of Chapters and on maps indicating JANIS publications completed or under way,
only the area actually covered by the JANIS wiii be indicated. Adjacent
islands and regions touched by the base map, but not covered by the study, will
be omitted.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
