MINUTES
of the
85th MEETING
1. Minutes of the 84th Meeting were read and approved as corrected.
2. Reference was made to the security report of Lt. James R.
Anderson of the office of Inspector of Naval Material in Philadelphia. Action
was deferred until receipt of Col. Van Sickler's report by this Board.
3. A letter to the A. L. Garber Company, in connection with this
Board's sending representatives from the Production and Editorial Departments
to Ashland in order to speed up the production of Chapter IV of JANIS 155,
was discussed and approved in revised form.
4. Col. Bicknell pointed out that unless the basic records of the
office are kept in better form, this Board might be embarrassed in giving out
incorrect information.
5. Col. Bicknell also suggested that correspondence be held down to
a minimum with respect to the production of JANIS 155.
6. Col. Bicknell requested that he be furnished with suggestions for
the planning meeting to be held on 2 June.
7. A discussion was held relative to maps and the problems arising
from the Beach Erosion Board's failure to advise this Board promptly the maps
they are using in the preparation of their material.
8. Captain MacArthur and Lt. Quam were instructed to make a personal
visit to the Beach Erosion Board to discuss this situation.
