2. indicated that O.S.S. was desirous of receiving recog-
nition for the con ri utions made by that agency to J.I.S.P.B., but the
consensus of opinion was that inasmuch as O.S.S. was recognized as an Army
and Navy organization, operating under the Joint Chiefs of Staff, that it
was unnecessary to make any recognition other than is given on the cover of
all JANIS publications, which indicates that such publications are joint
Army and Navy efforts.
3. Comdr. Bailey submitted a proof of the cover for Chapter X for
JANIS 155, which was designed to meet the requirements of the Registered
Publications Section of the Navy.
L1.. The Secretary was instructed to write a letter to the contributors relquueest-
them, if possible, to anticipate any reprints of any part of a given JANIS at
the time the original order is initiated. Failure to do this would result in
extra cost of reprints ordered too late to be included with the original order.
5. The Secretary was also instructed to prepare a memorandum to Lt. Tay-
mans in answer to paragraph '4 of his letter, dated 23 May, regarding the
schedule for submission of first copy on issues of JANIS subsequent to 1 July.
6. Edward Stern and Company's letter of 26 May 1944, relative to the
proposed editorial policy was read and approved. This letter was referred to the
entire editorial staff for compliance.
