1. Col. Bicknell expressed his conclusion resulting from his
conference with the officials of Edward Stern and Company on 4 April.
2. Plans for the completion of JANIS 157 were discussed and
Lt. Van Rees was directed to proceed to Philadelphia on 6 April to
assist in the work there. Comdr. Bailey is to follow on 10 April.
3, A discussion was had in connection with the printing of
base maps on JANIS Studies 103 and 104, and Captain MacArthur was
instructed to prepare a schedule of map production.
4. Lt. Comdr. Clinton was asked if it would be feasible to
limit the size, content, and number of illustrations of chapters.
it. Comdr. Clinton said it would vary but an estimate might be made,
and Comdr. Clinton was then requested to make a further study of
such possibilities.
5. The board unanimously adopted the policy that if con-
tributors did not meet the dead-line for submission of material
the Chief of the Intelligence Agency concerned would be notified
by letter explaining the serious effect such failure would have
on our production schedule.
Meeting was adjourned.
