is revising its catalogue on Topographic Intelligence Publications and
wishes to obtain listing of distributed ORI publications in this field.
2. This catalogue is the only such in existence. It is
distributed widely in this country and has proved of great value. Pre-
viously, the War Department, Navy Department, and OSS had provided lists
of their studies for the catalogue. The catalogue also covers German and
some other foreign intelligence.
3. From a working standpoint it would be most desirable to
furnish with the revised list of ORI topographic publications which
were distributed rather widely. The War Department is correcting its
previous contribution. Inasmuch as the studies listed are primarily
static in nature, the security problem is not as great as with other types
of studies; furthermore, some few touchy publications could be left off
the list.
4. I understand that if such a list is not given to the
