Subject: German Topographic Studies Available for JAMS 40.
1. Enclosed is a preliminary list of German Topographic
Intelligence Studies covering the-area of JAP~IS 40. Unless othervrise
noted, all the studies listed are available for use at the Reference
Section of the P~1ap Library, Department of State, Washington Auditorium,
19th and E Streets, N. W.
2. The studies listed deal with the whole area, and pro-
...vide evaluated information probably as?cornplete as a JAMS. Additional
material, hotivever, is arriving in Vashington daily and a large library
will be set up in the Pentagon. In addition, Army Map Service has
similar studies and maps. In general, all publications and maps with
the date 1942 or earlier should be checked against later documents com-
piled with occupational information. Numerous corrections were made
to the earlier studies for such topics as roads and railroads.
