Subject: Additional Instructions for Contributors to JANIS No. 102.
The area ooverer~ is the Mariana* Islands (12020'N to 20?50'N;
144.?OO'E to 1460301E),
2. In general, the area shall be treated as a unit.
3. In describing individual islands the order shall be from south
to north,
4.' Enclosure #1 is a proof copy of the base map for JANIS 102. All
maps showing the whole area shall be prepared as overlays for this map. In
printing, this map will be reduced to 62% of its linear dimensions (approxi-
mately 2611 in height to outside of wide border line).
5. Maps of portions of the area may be drawn to a scale deemed suit-
able by the contributing agency..
6. For the spelling of names, U. S. H. 0 Charts will be the autho-
rity. All names not included on H. 0. Charts shall be underlined to facili-
tate check by B.G.N.
7. Enclosure #2 is the outline guide for JANIS 102 and 104.
$. Enclosure #3 is a copy of instructions for preparation of JANIS
material.
9. The suggested deadline for the submission of all copy is 21
March ,1944.
