Partial Border Agreement with FRG
Last weekend East and West Germany signed protocols
delimiting their border in Luebeck Bay and an agreement cover-
ing West German fishing in East German territorial waters. In

the past the disputed territorial waters had led to a number
of incidents. The agreements were the latest success of the
joint border commission which has met episodically over the
past year to clean up disputed frontier areas on a piecemeal
basis. During the commission's ninth meeting held last
December another agreement settled a disputed area between
Luebeck Bay and the Elbe river.
