that the systems development phase of EOI had been completed as of that
day, 30 September, and that the official "Z" caveat has been designated
and accepted community-wide. Both presented 25X1
the latest status of the new system with emphasis placed upon those areas
affecting exploitation. Because of the security classification and the
variety of interests noted and expressed at the meeting, the briefing

e. said he would like to voice his deep concern
and alarm at the security violations apparent in a recent article
appearing in Aviation Week referring to some characteristics of the
"H" System. He stated that much time and effort is spent to clear
people to caveated projects and then the wraps and constraints are
peeled away by such violations. He realized there was little he or
EXRAND could do about it.
UNCLASSIFIED
f. reported on the status of the Technical Task
Team report. The Team had met once and were scheduled again for a
5 October meeting.
CONFIDENTIAL
g. stated that the Procurement Coordinating Team met
on Wednes ay, 29 September, and discussed savings and benefits brought
about by EXRAND actions as well as joint procurement. He expected to
have a preliminary report ready for EXRAND at the next meeting. He
announced that the community users of the 1540 light tables will meet
on 10 November to go over all of the specifications of the AIL 1540
light table prior to future negotiations with the contractor for the
next procurement orders. He also stated that NPIC was preparing to
order more Zoom 240 microstereoscopes; members were invited to place
their orders at this time and could do so by contacting Major Butt
for coordinating any procurement orders, reported that
EXRAND had aided in the distribution so far of 157 excess 940 light
tables to the community. He also stated that he would have from 30
to 40 Zoom 70's for community distribution but would report more on
this at the next meeting. Bausch & Lomb has just announced that the
price of the Dual Viewing Microstereoscope has been reduced to about
18K each in lots of 50; it was recognized by the members present that
this equipment was most valuable and usable within the community but
that money constraints probably would limit purchases. Nevertheless,
all members were asked to announce this information to their compo-
nents.
UNCLASSIFIED
h. announced that the Viewing Systems Handbook was
still available and that he should be contacted for additional copies.
