The eight peripheral missions will be flown against valid USIB-requirements, and will be conducted in accordance with the restrictions set forth by higher authority on 5 ,August 1971 (to remain at least 25 nm offshore from the PRC and to avoid overflights of PRC held islands). 2. Plans are still active to fly the one remaining of the two IDEALIST SCOPE SHIELD missions previously approved as soon as weather and equipment permit. ' 25X1 MISSION NUMBER IDEALIST/TACKLE HIGHLIGHTS 13 OCT -.15 NOV 1973 DATE FLOWN REMARKS The mission was a routine flight with no significant items to report. However, due to a navigation error the aircraft approached four nm off mainland. No PRC reaction to the mission was observed. 'Depending on the ,Arab/Israeli situation, GIANT REACH missions to the Middle East may be requested in December.
