A large pedestal mounted parabolic antenna (about 40. 5 ,i feet in diameter) was seen at the Tapaste Comsat ground station, ii located about ten miles southeast of Havana which will provide addi- tional communications links between Cuba and the USSR. The mission aborted 1 1/2 hours early because a power interruption at Guantanamo Naval Station prevented positive radar flight following of the U-2. 2. The October mission was tasked to ascertain if military offensive weapons were being emplaced in the vicinity of the Guantanamo Naval Station. Readout of mission photography disclosed that 12 drive-throu? revetments and nine artillery revetments have been constructed near Guantanamo since the OLYMPIC FIRE mission 25X1 3.
